The company’s V4 Supercharger has charging speeds of up to 250kW and Tesla’s CCS compatible units are built with a contactless card payment facility.
EV owners will be able to use the three-metre tethered charging cable on their EV – with more units expected to be introduced across the country.
The charger is connected in the same way as standard public rapid chargers.
Tesla’s new EV chargers are located in Tottenham, at the Tesla Centre on Ravenside Retail Park.
The US-based company first opened up its network of EV chargers to drivers of other electric vehicles in May 2022, but they have to use the Tesla smartphone app to access the chargers.
Currently, there are currently more than 1,100 Tesla chargers across the UK in 115 locations.
Tesla has opened more than 200 charging stations at 17 charge points across the UK and Ireland since the start of the year.
Upgrades to these chargers will be carried out in 2024 and will be given the new V4 technology – making them available to all EVs.
The company has committed to rapid expansion of its network across the world.
Despite the changes, Tesla drivers can continue to use these stations as they always have, and we will be closely monitoring each site for congestion and listening to customers about their experiences.
